What to expect at your Drop-off Appointment:

1. How to find us:

Look for our BLUE & WHITE signs.

We will be in Kennedy Rec Center’s empty ice rink, near the Quail Creek golf course.

Aerial view of 6050 Wells Rd, 63128

ADDITIONAL MAP INFO HERE

We will be using the BACK of the building for Drop-off’s.

When you pull up to the building, continue around & past the playground, to the back of the building.

IMPORTANT:

There is plenty of parking, but please note you will have to get your items into the building from the parking lot and into the zamboni door.

Be sure to bring a wagon or rolling cart (even a stroller works!) to get your items from your car into the building.

*** We know it’s not always possible, but when you can, we do suggest you leave the kids at home, there is a *lot* of hustle and bustle during the drop-off days that can make it difficult for you to keep an eye (and hand) on your little ones as you bring your items into the building.
2. Appointment check-in:
.

The check-in table will be the first table you see. When you check-in, you will receive your presale passes and instructions for dropping off your items.

PLEASE READ HERE FOR RULES & INFO ABOUT PRE-SALE PASSES:
https://storkladysale.com/sell/pre-sales/

*** Please be aware that consignors ‘on time’ for their scheduled appointments will be served first.

If you arrive more than 15 minutes early or late for your scheduled appointment, you will be directed to wait for an opening at the drop off table set-aside for consignors who arrive at times other than their scheduled appointment time.

3. How to bring your clothing:

BEFORE COMING TO DROPOFF:

Sort your clothing by gender (boy/girl). Then sort by size.

Rubberband the hangers of each size/gender group together.

You should end up with bundles of hangers in groups by size and gender(i.e. Girls 2T, Girls 3T, Girls 4T, Boys size 5, Boys size 6, etc).

Infant clothing size 24 months and smaller *AND* all Adult clothing MUST be rubberbanded together by size & gender so that our inspectors can quickly count the number of pieces by size that you bring.

Info on KIDS & BABY item limits here:https://storkladysale.com/sell/seller-faqs/

Info on ADULT item limits here: https://storkladysale.com/sell-your-adult-items

This is a huge help to our volunteers who are working quickly (and for hours!) to get THOUSANDS of items of clothing on the racks in a short amount of time.

*** An easy way to transport your clothing ***

After your hangers are rubberbanded together in gender/size groups, lay them flat on an open bed sheet. Gather up the corners of the sheet and tie or pin them together. You will end up with a ‘sack’ of clothes. You can move a lot of clothes easily this way.

5. How to bring all “other” items:

– Whenever possible, keep item categories together (ie box books together, shoes together, etc). This is a *huge* help for our volunteers.
– Tape tags ‘loosely’ onto large items (highchairs, lego table, stroller, etc). Our volunteers will remove your tag and attach it to a ‘large item’ tag to make purchasing easier for our shoppers.

– Do NOT tape DVD’s shut. We will need to check that the correct DVD is inside, as well as check that the DVD is in good shape.

– Tape shut all ziplock bags. Attach your tag to the ‘outside’ of the bag.

– Consignors with 300 or more items entered in the tagging system, will have their items counted in total. Please allow extra time.

5. Do not leave any plastic tubs or boxes that you want to keep.It is impossible for us to keep track of any tubs or boxes that you leave behind.

*** We prefer you use cardboard boxes and leave them behind for us to use – we’re always in need of them! Thanks!
5. Double-check your items:

We are accepting Spring/Summer clothing.

We will accept long-sleeve shirts and long pants that are lightweight and are of a spring/summer color, weight & style.

We will accept long-sleeve shirts that are paired with and sold as a set with shorts/capris.

We will accept long pants that are paired with and sold as a set with a short-sleeve or sleeveless top.

Jeans will be accepted. Capri’s will be accepted.

Jackets must be lightweight and of a spring/summer color, weight & style. Jeans/Denim jackets, windbreakers & lightweight hoodie jackets will be accepted.

Girls lightweight Easter/dressy cardigan sweaters will be accepted.

Infant sleepers must be lightweight – no fleece or blanket sleepers will be accepted.

We will accept Spring/Summer shoes only. No snow boots. Girls ‘fashion’ boots are okay.

All items requiring batteries, must have working batteries installed. (Try dollar stores for cheap batteries.)

All parts and pieces of an item must be securely attached together *and* all ziplock bags must be taped shut.

All items brought must be checked against the recall list. We will not accept recalled items. https://storkladysale.com/sell/preparing-items-for-sale/product-safety/
5. Pick-up of your unsold items:

Pick-up of your unsold items that have not been marked to be ‘donated’, is Sunday, April 13th, from 4p-7p. All items remaining at 7pm will be donated.

We will upload a list of your ‘sold’ items at 3pm (and again, every 15 minutes up till 4pm).

This will make the most current sales data available to you.

* Consignors’ unsold items will *not* be sorted by consignor number. *

Items will stay in place (ie books on the bookshelves, girl toys on the girl toy tables, clothing on the racks etc) so that it will be easy for you to find your unsold items, but you will have to gather the items yourself.
If you are sending someone to pickup your unsold items for you – please be sure they are aware of this change.

***Consider DONATING your unsold items.

We work with several different charities who are so grateful for the donations *and* you won’t have to bring anything back in your house!

Or consider marking the majority of your items to be DONATED, and plan on picking up just a select few items if they don’t sell.

WHEW! Not *too* much to remember, is it? 😉

Thank you all for doing such a great job following all these rules, it helps us to focus our time & energy on the real work at hand – getting your items SOLD!

* NEW LOCATION = NEW SCHEDULE *

We’ve made many, many changes to the sale schedule.

Please BE SURE to review the current schedule, and do not assume that dates/times will be the same as in the past:

See complete sale schedule here.

* VOLUNTEER SHIFTS *

As of this morning there were several open Volunteer shifts. If you were not able to get the shift you wanted, you may want to take a look again as there have been several Volunteers that dropped their shift in the past day or two. *** If you are not planning to work a shift that you are currently scheduled for, please remove yourself as soon as possible so that someone else can cover the work duties at that time. Thank you!

  Our volunteers shop before consignors and the public *and* volunteers who are also consignors earn a higher percentage of their sales!

* CHECK YOUR ACCOUNT INFO *
Verify that your mailing address is correct – this is where we will send your consignor earnings within 2 weeks of the close of the sale.You can update your email address & password here as well, if needed.

* DROP-OFF APPOINTMENTS *
 All consignors MUST have a scheduled drop-off appointment in order to consign their items *and* to receive their consignor presale wristband passes. Your drop-off appointment is the time when you will bring your tagged items to the sale location.When you log-in to your consignor account, choose “Select a Drop-Off Appointment”.

* PRODUCT SAFETY / RECALLS  *

All items you bring to the sale *must* be checked against the CPSC web site to make sure they have not been recalled or deemed unsafe. Links to the CPSC here:  https://storkladysale.com/sell/preparing-items-for-sale/product-safety/

* ITEM LIMITS *

Save yourself the trouble of cleaning, hanging, tagging and hauling items that we can’t accept.

Be sure to review the SELLER FAQ’s for info on what (and how many) items will be accepted at the Spring 2014 sale.

* MINIMUM $$ AMOUNTS *

All clothing must have a minimum sale price of $2.00.Hang more than one item together to get to the $2.00 minimum if necessary (ie sell 2 t-shirts together for $2.00 – please use pins or zip-ties to make the items stay together.  If they become separated, it is very difficult to pair them back up). Look at the condition of your clothing carefully, if you wouldn’t buy it for the minimum sale price of $2.00, consider whether this may not be the selling venue for it. All other items must have a minimum sale price of $1.00

* TAPE SHUT ALL ZIPLOCK BAGS *

All ziplock bags must be taped securely shut.All items with loose ‘pieces’ should have those pieces taped down securely or taped shut in a bag of some kind (and then tape the *bag* securely to the larger item!).Several thousand shoppers will handle your items – make sure any loose parts & pieces will not become separated from each other.  Considering putting a piece of masking tape on all pieces/bags with your consignor# and the item# so that if they become separated from each other, we can match them back up.

* SECURING YOUR PINNED ON TAGS *

This is a great tip that will make it virtually impossible for your clothing tags to fall off, be removed or switched.AFTER pinning on the tag, take a piece of clear packing tape and wrap it completely aroundthe top half of the tag to cover the safety pin. Be sure to completely cover the safety pin (front and back), but do not cover the barcode. Try it once & you will see how secure it makes your tag!

* SMART SELLER’S TIP: *

Put a small piece of masking tape on each item with your consignor # and the item’s inventory # written on it.With this info we can print a new tag & SELL your item rather than let it sit in lost & found for several days.
Tip: Print out a sheet of tiny return address labels with your consignor # and the words “item #” on each.  Then all you have to do is write on the item #, and peel-and-stick!

* NEW: PICKUP PROCEDURES *

IMPORTANT!!!!

Normally it takes 8+ hours (and a total of 160 volunteer hours!) to reverse the ‘drop-off’ process and prepare consignors’ unsold items for ‘pick-up’.

Due to the shortened time we have in the sale building this spring, we’ve made several changes to that lengthy process. * Consignors’ unsold items will *not* be sorted by consignor number. * Items will stay in place (ie books on the bookshelves, girl toys on the girl toy tables, clothing on the racks etc) so that it will be easy for you to find your unsold items, but you will have to gather the items yourself. (This is much easier for you to do, rather than volunteers, because you know what you’re looking for!) If you are sending someone to pickup your unsold items for you – please be sure they are aware of this change.  *** Consider DONATING your unsold items. We work with several different charities who are so grateful for the donations *and* you won’t have to bring anything back in your house! At the very least, consider marking the majority of your items to be DONATED, and plan on picking up just a select few items if they don’t sell.  (Even better, price to sell & you won’t have anything left to pick up at all!) *** RETURNING CONSIGNORS:*** We realize this is a big ‘ol change – and may be a shock to your system. 😉  Rest assured that we will do all we can to make this an easy transition for everyone. We thank you for your cooperation & patience as we work through this process.  Required reading for all: Avoiding Pick-up Paranoia.  🙂

WHEW!  If you’ve made it this far, we thank you!  To pull off an event of this size – and in such a short amount of time! – it’s so important that everyone understands & plays by the rules. We thank you for your patience!

Any questions, let us know ,

Thanks so much,  we look forward to seeing you at the sale!   The Stork Lady Consignment Sale Events
